Goals: LSALMA strives to provide ways for union employees and managers to work together on issues of mutual interest to benefit everyone. It aims at developing a genuine sense of partnership between balanced teams of labor and management representatives. These labor-management committees use group problem solving models to strive toward consensus decision-making alongside the existing collective bargaining structure. The foundation of mutual trust and respect in such relationships can be enormously effective in selecting and working toward a joint vision.

NEWS TO NOTE:

2006 golf Tournament was a huge success.

The Association's broad-based strategy respects the rights and dignity of each organization while encouraging organizational leadership and their respective unions to take responsible action toward accomplishing the common good. This pro-active strategy is particularly effective, because it addresses relationships between parties away from the tension and conflict inherent at the negotiating table.

These cooperative efforts increase organizational efficiency, job satisfaction, productivity and work quality. Innovative labor-management relations also strengthen community efforts to retain and attract businesses.
